 HIKE
FOR DISCOVERYis the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's adventure fundraising program that enables participants to experience the Grand Canyon in a special way. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity includes professional training and coaching, clinics on hiking, nutrition, hydration, and equipment, along with the fun of training with a group. We're raising funds for lifesaving cancer research and services for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Pictured at left is honored teammate and leukemia survivor Sara Bartlo, hike coordinator Lisa Bisciglia, and hike leaders Andy Saltzman and Rena Force.  My Honored Hiker is my nephew Todd Hermon, pictured here with his new wife, Kristen. They tied the knot on March 3rd! The green "TEAM TODD" shirts were worn by Todd, friends, and family who participated in the Light the Night Walk in Indianapolis. Visit Todd's pages and read his story at ToddHermon.com  March 15th our 9-year-old Honored Hiker Bridgett Contreras finally left Phoenix Children's Hospital to return home and Channel 3 News was there to film the celebration! Bridgett was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 6 and miraculously, a bone marrow match was found for her in December of 2005. We all wish her the best and are happy she's home and doing well!
